Neuroscience and Cognitive Studies
The faculty teaching in the Neuroscience and Cognitive Studies program are involved in a variety of research efforts, and there are numerous opportunities for research into Neuroscience and Cognitive Studies at Millsaps. Although they change from semester to semester, research opportunities break down into 4 categories:
- Research guided by a professor at Millsaps, currently including projects on cognitive psychology and cognitive science, eating behavior, behavioral neuroscience
- Research guided by a scientist at the University of Mississippi Medical Center, including a wide variety of projects
- Research at another institution with which Millsaps can form ties should a particular student have an interest in a specific project
- Internships, professional shadowing, and research rotations at a variety of institutions in the Jackson area.
If you are interested in a research opportunity, please contact Dr. Melissa Lea about the possibilities.
