The Career Center works with the Business Office, International Programs and the Office of Financial Aid to help students find employment on or off campus. If you are looking for a part time job, your best bet is to start with the Career Center.
How do I find on-campus job opportunities?
The faculty and staff are responsible for sending job postings to the Career Center. If the Career Center knows about any openings, they will be listed on College Central Network.
How do I get into College Central Network?
Which part of the main menu do I use for on-campus jobs?
Where do I get a student employment application?
When you find a job in College Central, print a student employment application, complete it, and send by the appropriate deadline. Remember, you can add up to six jobs on one application.
Where do I send my completed application?
I filled out an application. When do I hear about getting hired for a job?
It depends. For example, if you applied during June for a fall semester job, you may not hear about that job until late August. Here's how it works once you send your application:
1) The Career Center copies your application and sends it to the appropriate department(s) a day or two after the deadline passes. 2) The department(s) reviews all applications and then contacts their top choices. 3) You may want to call the department(s) about a week after the application deadline passes to see if you are one of their top choices. Find phone numbers and email addresses here.
I qualify for federal aid/federal work study. Does this mean that I automatically get an on-campus job?
No. All jobs on campus are available to students regardless of financial aid status. However, in nearby organizations, there are paid "community service jobs" just for students receiving federal aid. To find out more, visit the Office of Financial Aid in Sanders Hall and ask about "community service jobs."
I have not worked on campus before. Where do I find tax forms?
The Business Office has tax forms for student employees. They are located in AC 144.
Where can I find part-time jobs off campus?
If we have gotten a posting from an employer, the job will be listed in College Central. Follow the directions above, instead using the search criterion Part Time.
