This program is not a major in itself but can be combined with any Millsaps major.

Students interested in applying to nursing school have several options for their college education in preparation for a career in nursing. Most nursing programs have similar prerequisites they expect all applicants to have completed before applying for a program of professional study in nursing, including some social science, mathematics, English composition, biology and chemistry. Most of these have equivalent courses at Millsaps. It is a good idea to check the prerequisites specified by each school to which you intend to apply.

Millsaps has worked out specific articulation agreements with two schools of nursing. At Vanderbilt School of Nursing, a student with a Bachelor of Science degree from Millsaps who has completed all prerequisite courses with a grade of C or higher may apply to the Master of Science in Nursing program leading to certification as a Nurse Practitioner in one of several specialties.  Click here for the Vanderbilt School of Nursing's prerequisite information.
