Studio Art at Millsaps College
The studio program emphasizes student experimentation
in the two-dimensional media of drawing, painting, printmaking, and digital
arts, and three-dimensional conceptualizing and production are explored
in sculpture and installation courses. Technical proficiency and creative
expression are seen as closely linked; you will be challenged to find
something meaningful to say and an appropriate mode in which to communicate
that idea or emotion or vision. In other words, you will develop over
these years at Millsaps both a voice and a language, or in artistic terms,
personal content and style.
