SEWANEE, Tenn. – Competing in their lone tournament of the fall season, the Millsaps College women's tennis team won seven combined singles matches at the 2008 Wilson/ITA Regional Championships at the University of the South-Sewanee.

"We had stretches of good play but fell into spells of inconsistency," first-year head coach Jay Pacelli said. "The tournament was a good experience for a very young team."

The weekend had its share of highlights, with freshman Lauren Williams and junior Allison Zakaras each advancing to the Finals of Consolation "A" Draw, Group 2. The pair both lost their opening matches and rebounded to win the next two.

In doubles action, Zakaras/Williams played the No. 3 seed from Rhodes and were up 4-3 before eventually falling 8-4.
