Blazers Rain on Majors' Parade, Win Five-Set Thriller
Millsaps wraps up home game schedule Saturday at 11 a.m. vs Huntingdon

JACKSON – In another classic confrontation between two cross-street rivals, the Blazers of Belhaven College rained on the festivities of the Majors, winning a 3-2 match on Senior Night by scores of 25-27, 25-23, 19-25, 25-19 and 10-15.

Before the intense match between the two rivals started, the volleyball team honored its two graduating seniors in Toni Manley and Sarah Exley who have both contributed invaluably to the team for the four years they were in uniform.

The pair also had a stellar game in one of their last appearances in the Hangar Dome, with Manley contributing eight kills and four blocks and classmate Exley notching six kills and five aces. Exley started the night off right for the team, recording the first kill in the first set.

Kate Hall and Maggie Tumminello both had solid offensive showings with 11 kills apiece, while Dixie Krauss and Erica Cook led the way defensively with 14 digs apiece. Rounding out the contributions for the Majors was sophomore Hailey Miranda with 37 assists and 10 kills.

Millsaps will wrap up its regular season home game schedule tomorrow with an 11 a.m. match against Huntingdon College.
