Eudora Welty’s Secret Sharer: The Outside World and the Writer’s Imagination
Welty Workshop for Educators
Approximately 100 teachers from 19 states will visit Jackson in July for a week-long workshop hosted by Millsaps College and the Eudora Welty House to study the world, characters and events that sparked the imagination of one of America’s greatest authors.

Monday, July 7

"Informance" - Franz Schubert's Rondo in A major, Op. 107, & Music by Anton Webern

Join the audience on stage for an up-close experience with our music faculty performers. Features Rachel Heard, piano; Lynn Raley, piano; and Janette Sudderth, cello. They will perform Franz Schubert's Rondo in A major, Op. 107, and Anton Webern's Two Pieces (1899) Cello and Piano: Langsam (G major) and Langsam (F major), as well as Webern's Three Little Pieces for Cello and Piano: Op. 11.

"Informance" - G. F. Handel's Recitative and Aria (from Lucretia - Cantata for Soprano), & Music by Roger Quilter

Join the audience on stage for an up-close experience with our music faculty performers. Features Cheryl Cokery, soprano; Janette Sudderth, cello; Rachel Heard, piano; Song Xie, violin; and Lynn Raley, piano. They will perform G. F. Handel's Recitative and Aria: Cantata for Soprano (from Lucretia), "Ma voi forse nel Cielo," and "Il suol che preme." They will also perform Roger Quilter's Three Pastoral Songs: I will go with my father a-ploughing, Cherry Valley, and I wish and I wish.
