Dr. James Bowley, associate professor of religious studies, will discuss two of his publications at the Eudora Welty Library in Jackson on Thursday, July 24, as part of the library’s "Applause!" Series. He will discuss “Introduction to the Hebrew Bible: A Guided Tour of Israel’s Sacred Library” and “Living Traditions of the Bible.”
Dr. Bowley has been in Jackson since 2002 teaching courses at Millsaps in biblical studies,
Abrahamic traditions, religion and literature, Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. Dr. Bowley is
also the Religious Studies Department's member of the Millsaps Institute for Interdisciplinary
Archaeological Research.
