The Family Business Institute at the Millsaps College Else School of Management will offer a seminar titled, “Financial Issues in the Family-Owned Business,” on Thursday, Nov. 20 in the Millsaps College Leggett Center. For registration or more information on the program, please call 601-974-1250 or visit the Family Business Institute online.

Family business owners who will present at the seminar include Gail Pittman, of Gail Pittman, Inc.; Harold Miller, of Miller Transporters; Jeff Good, co-owner of Bravo! Italian Restaurant, Broad Street, and Sal and Mookie’s Pizza; and George Pickett, of Pickett, Bradford and Associates. They will give participants solid advice on how to handle what is often considered to be the hardest part of running a business – the financial aspect.

Tommy Lyle, a senior vice president in Retail Lending Management at Trustmark National Bank, will talk about ways family business owners should approach funding sources, and Bill Brister, assistant professor of finance at Millsaps, will discuss finance for the non-financial executive. John Brandon of the Mississippi Development Authority will also give the group information on how the MDA can help family business owners.

Registration will begin at 8:30 a.m. with the seminar starting at 8:45 a.m.
