The Millsaps College Chamber Singers will present sacred music including standard church literature and American folk hymns and spirituals at St. Luke’s United Methodist Church in Jackson on Sunday, November 9 at 6 p.m.
Organized in the fall of 1993, the Chamber Singers present concerts in United Methodist churches in Mississippi and the surrounding area each year. Members are chosen by audition from the larger group of Millsaps Singers and receive scholarship assistance. Timothy C. Coker, professor of music and chair of the Millsaps Department of Performing Arts, directs the Chamber Singers. Janette Sudderth, organist at St. Richard’s Catholic Church and cellist in the Mississippi Symphony, is accompanist.
