Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity will host a barbecue fundraiser to benefit the Don Fortenberry Endowed Scholarship Fund and Award on Saturday, November 8 from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. on the Millsaps College campus.
The benefit will follow the college’s homecoming football game and will take place in the McCarty Plaza located between the Hall Activity Center and the A.B. Campbell Student Center. The event will have live music, a silent auction and children’s games. All proceeds and donations will benefit the Don Fortenberry Endowed Scholarship Fund and Award.
The Don Fortenberry Award, inaugurated in 2004, is presented to a graduating student from any undergraduate academic division of the College who is considered to have performed the most notable, meritorious, diligent, and devoted service to Millsaps College with no expectation of recognition, reward, or public remembrance.
Silent auction items may be bid online on cmarket.com until Thursday, Nov. 6 and bids will be accepted until the end of the picnic on Sat. Nov. 8. Items include autographed books, designer purses, tickets to the Liberty Bowl, a New Orleans get-a-way, golf package, a two-night stay at the Fairview Inn and much more.
Tickets are $20 in advance or $25 at the event; $10 for Millsaps students and children under 12 years old in advance and $15 the day of the event. The Millsaps Majors will play Colorado College at 1 p.m. on Harper Davis Field.
